 It's
said that the stars shine differently over Upper Captiva. It's
definitely a place where you can forget about time and any of the
worries you left behind on the mainland. When you come to our island,

Upper Captiva is a place where there are no worries, no hurries, no problems.
Privacy, seclusion and nature are a way of life here as there are
no paved roads or cars. Golf carts and bikes are the only means
of transportation. You'll also find an island that abounds with
wild life and tropical foliage and fishing that is beyond your imagination.
 Upper
Captiva's building codes are strict; no building above 45ft and
extreme set backs. This makes the northern end, or residential area,
not that much different than the Wilderness area. There are no resorts
or high rises, no throngs of people, no crowded beaches. The Upper Captiva beach
today is probably not all that different from days of old when pirates
named the island after their captives held for ransom.
Whether
you are beach walking, bird watching, fishing, swimming, shelling,
dolphin watching, relaxing under the sway of a tall palm, or toasting
the sun set, you will find that our beaches come with a large dose
of relaxation and serenity. Come and experience one of Florida's

 Upper Captiva is bordered by Pine Island Sound and the Gulf of Mexico. Upper Captiva is approximately 700 acres
in total but the majority of land is being preserved as a wildlife
sanctuary. Upper Captiva Island is approximately 4 1/2 miles long and 1/2
mile across at its widest. Development is very limited (although we do have homes for sale on Upper Captiva, as well as Upper Captiva lots for sale). There are
2 restaurants, 2 gift stores, a grocery/deli store and a bar.
